Beyoncé’s smashing rendition of Etta James’ classic “At Last” – the ballad accompanying President and Mrs. Obama’s first dance at the inaugural’s Neighborhood Ball – was roundly praised by almost everyone who heard it.
Everyone, that is except for James. The veteran R&B singer called out Beyoncé big time during a Seattle concert last week, Us magazine reports.

“You know that woman he [Barack Obama] had singing for him, singing my song – she’s gonna get her — whooped.

“The great Beyoncé … But I can’t stand Beyoncé,” she added. “She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol’ president day … singing my song that I’ve been singing forever.”

The irony to this whole smackdown, of course, is that Beyoncé played James in the recent movie “Cadillac Records.” Judging by photos of the pair at its November premiere, there was nothing but love in the air.

By the way, James apparently isn’t so keen on the 44th president as well. “You guys know your president, right?” she said at the same Seattle show. “You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain’t my president, he might be yours, he ain’t my president.”

When a comment from Ne-Yo hit the Internet in which the songwriter said that he wished he could have kept the Beyoncé hit “Irreplaceable” for himself, some took it as a dis to the star.

“One song that I gave away and didn’t want to, but it’s actually a good thing that I did, is Beyonce’s ‘Irreplaceable’. I honestly wrote that song for myself, but that song taught me a very interesting lesson: Many women don’t think that differently. … However, a man singing it comes across a little bit misogynistic, a little bit mean,” Ne-Yo, who wrote the song, said in an interview.

When it was implied on Twitter that Ne-Yo was dissing the Sasha Fierce star with his comments, the singer/songwriter defended himself. “Aiight my dude. Send me the link to where I said ANYTHING disrespectful about Beyonce, PLEASE! Dying to hear this,” he wrote. “Just heard the audio where I supposedly dissed Beyonce. ARE Y’ALL SERIOUS!?! Did y’all even listen to what I said!?!”

Ne-Yo then continued to tweet his anger toward those who misunderstood what he said. “I said I originally wrote the song for me. That’s true, so OF COURSE I didn’t want to give it away originally. IT WAS FOR ME,” he wrote. “Once I realized how the song comes across if sung by a guy, that’s when I decided to give it away. HOW IS THAT DISSING BEYONCE!?! She took the song and made it a smash, NOBODY can deny that …

“You know what? At first I was apologetic about what the hacker said, now that I’ve heard the audio myself, not so much,” he continued. “Y’all should listen a lil’ harder before you start dissin’ people. Makes you look real dumb. I’m tired of being nice to dumb people. … Bottom line, Beyonce is my friend. To HELL with anybody that ain’t SMART enough to understand what I truly meant.”

Movie inspired by Bieber’s participation in a charity basketball game held during NBA’s All-Star weekend.

Justin Bieber already has one of the top-grossing documentaries of all time with “Never Say Never.” And he’s gotten his feet wet doing a little acting on “CSI.” So it just stands to reason that his next move is to full-on star in a movie, right?

Enter superfan Mark Wahlberg, who knows a thing or two about making the transition from teenybopper pinup to movie-opening star. Wahlberg — who in August said, “the world needs Justin Bieber … Justin Bieber is like the white Tupac” — told New York magazine this week, “Justin Bieber and I are going to do a movie together.”

That’s right. Wahlberg said he’s in talks with Paramount on the project and hopes to set the film up at the studio following his Academy Award-winning flick “The Fighter.” But most importantly, Bieber is reportedly way into it and is excited to sign on for the project. “He loves the idea,” Wahlberg said. “He’s been sending me video, he sent me a video of himself, and, yeah, I think he’s really talented.”

Wahlberg described the movie as a drama in which he would play a “reluctant mentor in an inner-city environment,” but cautioned that neither he nor Bieber will sing or dance in the film. In fact, last August Wahlberg said he wouldn’t break his nearly two-decade-long hip-hop silence … unless Bieber asked him to.

Deadline Hollywood reported that the untitled drama is an exploration of street basketball in which Bieber will get a chance to show off his dramatic chops. Wahlberg and partner Stephen Levinson will produce alongside Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun. The script is being written by Ian Edelman, creator of HBO’s “How to Make It in America.”

“The tone of the project is described as ‘The Color of Money’ meets ‘The Karate Kid,’ and it came out of Wahlberg and Levinson seeing Bieber play ball in February during a celebrity game held during NBA All-Star Game weekend,” Deadline reported.

Bieber has clearly been bitten by the acting bug. In September he raved about his guest appearance on “CSI” as Jason McCann. “I liked it because you never knew what was going to happen. Now that I’m on it, it’s pretty cool,” he said of the show. “It opens a different audience to the show,” he explained of his appearances, “and it also helps me because a new audience that might not know me is now going to see me. So it works both ways.”

I know the fans have been requesting like crazy, but we need to kick up into high gear for tomorrow’s impact! A system has been set up on twitter to help people request in their respected regions and a full list of all the twitter accounts will be posted at the end of the post. All you need to do is go to the Twitter account and view the Twitter list the page has created. There you’ll find all of the Twitter accounts of the radio stations in your area. Then all you have to do is tweet the radio stations and request the single. Also, follow the twitter page for request numbers, Facebook pages etc. On the HeadQuarter page, there will be a list of the Top Stations in the US, so be sure to tweet them too! If you don’t have a twitter account you can still request at requestbeyonce.net. The request day will be very important in getting Beyonce’s new single heard. Beyoncé would appreciate this very much!

PLEASE NOTE: A great way to request is to tell the station that you only caught a part of the song. Make a personal message to every station that you request too. Don’t use the same message to request. Don’t spam! Please refrain from requesting a song 50 times to one account and use your PERSONAL account, not one representing a fan group.
